Sometimes the best opportunities arrive unexpectedly. We were recently invited to tour a remarkable historic home that wasn’t on our calendar, and we couldn’t pass it up. Join Napa County Landmarks for a special farmhouse edition of the Old House Club, hosted by homeowner and preservationist Karen Wesson.
This beautifully restored farmhouse is tucked into the heart of Coombsville. Located on land that was once part of Nathan Coombs’ original ranch holdings, the house dates to 1942 and reflects the area’s agricultural heritage. When Wesson purchased the property in 2009, the house required extensive structural work and careful restoration. The home was lifted onto a new foundation, thoughtfully expanded, and updated with restored fir floors, wood windows, and reclaimed architectural details, all while preserving its simple character. Historic outbuildings, including a rustic redwood shop with a rare two-seat privy, along with the property’s gazebo and landscape, were also carefully restored.
Come raise a glass, meet fellow old-house enthusiasts, and spend a moment with a home that has truly been loved.
Space is limited to 40 people. Please park on the side of the street opposite of the house next to the fields. Rideshare is encouraged.
