Congressman Mike Thompson
Meets with NCL Representatives

April 15, 2022 by NCL Leave a Comment

Three members of our Napa County Landmarks (NCL) met with California Preservation Foundation (CPF) and Congressman Mike Thompson recently to discuss the crucial importance of federal tax credits for historic preservation.  The Historic Tax Credit Growth and Opportunity Act of 2021 (HTC-GO, HR 2294/S.2266), would make important changes to the Historic Tax Credit to encourage more building reuse and redevelopment across the country.  California passed the California Historic Tax Credit (SB 451-Atkins) in 2019 to encourage economic development of historic properties on the California Register of Historic Places. The goal of the meeting was to build support for the federal tax program (HTC GO) as an economic stimulus for communities – small and large in the post-COVID recovery.
