Each year Napa County Landmarks presents Awards of Merit to persons for projects that promote the preservation of Napa County’s unique architectural, historical and cultural heritage. Landmarks is seeking nominations from you our membership as well as from the general public, design/build, and planning/ building professionals for the 2008 Awards.
The five categories are preservation or restoration of an existing historic building at least 50 years old; rehabilitation or adaptive reuse of an historic building; construction of a new building which is compatible with nearby existing historic structures; cultural landscapes, and cultural resource studies, reports, publications, programs and computer software. Landmarks also recognizes a Preservationist of the Year.
As the second oldest incorporated county in California, Napa has many commercial and residential structures that are worthy of preservation in the 21st century and beyond. Landmarks encourages Awards of Merit nominations from the general public.
